CBS is reporting a story about Anthony Riggs, 57, who was mauled to death by the Rottweiler he had just adopted on the same day. His wife found him dead just a couple of hours after taking the dog home from Jackson-Madison Rabies Control in Tennessee.
Employees at the shelter said they would never let a dog be adopted if it showed any signs of aggression. They said the 5-year-old Rottweiler was brought to the facility five days before the incident happened and it never bit any of the handlers. When deputies arrived on the scene, they had to shoot the dog to put it down.
